The Leadership Paradox That’s Quietly Undermining Everything You’ve Built
I’ve been thinking about a conversation I had last week with a CEO who told me something that stopped me in my tracks:
“We have brilliant people, solid strategy, and clear goals. So why does it feel like we’re all pulling in different directions?”
It turns out, the research reveals exactly why this happens.
While 77% of executives feel they’re part of something important at their organisation, only 59% of employees feel the same. Even more telling? Only 28% of executives responsible for executing strategy could actually list their company’s strategic priorities.
This isn’t just about miscommunication—it’s about disconnection.
When people feel disconnected from purpose, from each other, and from the bigger picture, even the most talented teams start sleepwalking through their work. Strategic fog sets in. Execution becomes exhausting rather than energising.
Here’s what I’ve learned after working with leaders across the globe:
The organisations that thrive aren’t necessarily the ones with the best strategies on paper. They’re the ones where every person feels genuinely connected to the mission, to their role in achieving it, and to each other.
Connection is what transforms strategy into lived reality.
Why Our Connected Leaders System Works:
While others focus on processes and frameworks, we focus on the human element first. We help leaders create:
✨ Connection with Self – Clear values and authentic leadership presence
✨ Connection with Purpose – Meaningful alignment between personal and organizational vision
✨ Connection with Others – Trust, psychological safety, and genuine collaboration
When these three connections are strong, strategic clarity naturally follows. Execution becomes effortless because everyone understands not just what they’re doing, but why it matters.
A Personal Reflection:
In our work, we’ve seen teams transform from scattered and stressed to focused and fulfilled—not through more meetings or better processes, but through deeper human connection. When people feel seen, valued, and connected to something meaningful, they bring their best selves to work naturally.
If you’re curious about how the Connected Leaders System could help your team move from strategic fog to genuine clarity and connection, I’d love to chat.
